Defte Lavete Fos - Chanted By Nikolaos Sarlakis

The Holy Fire (Greek Ἃγιον Φῶς, "Holy Light") is described by Orthodox Christian believers as a miracle that occurs every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday, the day preceding Orthodox Easter (Pascha). It is considered by many to be the longest-attested annual miracle in the Christian world. It has only been consecutively documented since 1106, previous references being sporadic.[1] The ceremony is broadcast live in Greece, Russia, Georgia, Cyprus, Lebanon and other Orthodox countries (like Egypt). Furthermore, in Russia, Greece, Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Syria and Lebanon, the Holy Fire is brought to the countries every year by special flights, being received with honours by state leaders at the respective airports. This is chanted as the Holy fire spreads thought everything. It is all so chanted as the priest comes out of the Holy Doors during easter when all the lights are off and he has a candle and everyone encircles him to get the Holy Light. In Greek Dhef-te la - ve-te fos, ek tou a-ne - spe - rou fo - tos ke do-xa-sa - te Chri - ston ton a-na - stan - da ek ne - kron. In English Come receive ye the light, from the neverwaning light and glorify Christ, who hath arisen from the dead.
